Refuge House
Refuge House is a Maternity Emergency Shelter located in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, that provides immediate temporary housing for vulnerable pregnant women.
This serves as the first step in supportive housing and relationship building.

Our offices are also located in this building, as well as a gathering space for mothers and their children, including program alumni.
In order to meet the immediate shelter needs of vulnerable women and children, Refuge House serves as a Maternity Emergency Shelter facility. Refuge House provides private rooms for up to 6 pregnant women and their children, up to age 10. Residents in the Emergency Shelter program are housed free of charge and can stay for up to 90 days. This is a women-only residence and no males (over the age of 10) are permitted.

What does a stay at Refuge House look like?
During their stay at Refuge House, we aim to help mothers feel safe, cared for, and connected to others. Residents have access to regular meals as well as the ability to store and prepare their own food in the fully-stocked commercial kitchen. Bedding and linens are provided for all residents. The building and bedrooms are secured by 24/7 code access.

Refuge House also has communal spaces where residents can meet with each other, receive support from volunteers, and take part in house-wide programming aimed at equipping women to achieve healthy pregnancies and be prepared to parent. Our Client Care team supports residents and assists them in forming the plan for their next step (whether going into a Refuge Host Home or another community program).
